The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Plumtree Heights Condominiums on Deer Run Road, in Bethel, said the Bethel Fire Department & EMS.

When the department arrived on the scene, they found a working fire in the garage with fire spreading to inside the unit, the department said on Facebook.

Bethel firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one unit and prevent it from spreading to other homes, they said.

Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters remained on scene overhauling, as well as knocking down hot spots.

The cause is under investigation by the Bethel Fire Marshal's office.

The department was assisted with coverage of their station by the West Redding Volunteer Fire Department.
